1. Introduction

Welcome to ChatPay. This Privacy Policy describes how Matrixcorp Technologies SAPI de CV ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use the ChatPay mobile application (the "App") and related services.

ChatPay is a messaging platform built on blockchain technology (BNB Smart Chain) where initiating contact with another user requires a one-time peer-to-peer micro-payment, designed to make spam economically infeasible and promote meaningful communication. Once contact is established, messaging within that conversation is free. Because of the unique nature of our service, which involves both personal messaging and blockchain-based transactions, we take your privacy extremely seriously.

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Data Type	Details
Account Information	Your name, email address, and profile information provided during registration.
Wallet Address	Your non-custodial blockchain wallet address (BNB Smart Chain), connected via Reown, used to send and receive first-contact micro-payments. ChatPay does not have access to your private keys.
Messages & Content	The content of messages you send and receive. Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest.
Support Communications	Any information you provide when contacting our support team.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device information (device model, OS version, unique device identifiers)
• Log data (IP address, access times, features used, crash reports)
• Blockchain transaction data (transaction hashes, wallet addresses, timestamps, amounts) publicly visible on BNB Smart Chain
• Usage analytics (features accessed, frequency and duration of use)

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your private keys or seed phrases.
• We do not collect your precise geographic location.
• We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone without explicit permission.
• We do not collect biometric data.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its messaging services
• To process blockchain-based first-contact transactions on BNB Smart Chain
• To create and manage your user account
• To communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, spam, and security issues
• To comply with applicable legal obligations
• To enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your data.

4. Blockchain and On-Chain Data

Once data is recorded on the blockchain, it cannot be modified or deleted. This is an inherent characteristic of blockchain technology. We strongly recommend that you do not share personally identifiable information through on-chain transactions.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only with:

• Service Providers: Third-party vendors for infrastructure and analytics, bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Legal Authorities: When required by law or governmental request.
• Business Transfers: In connection with mergers or acquisitions, with prior notice.
• Blockchain Network: Transaction data inherently shared on the public BNB Smart Chain.

6. Data Security

• End-to-end encryption using elliptic-curve cryptography (Signal-style protocol)
• Encryption in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher
• Encryption at rest on our servers
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Access controls on a need-to-know basis

7. Data Retention

• Account information: retained until you request deletion
• Messages: retained for delivery, deleted per retention schedule
• Blockchain data: permanent and immutable
• Analytics and logs: up to 24 months

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to: access, correct, delete, port, object to processing, or withdraw consent regarding your personal data.

Contact us at privacy@chatpayapp.com to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time:

• In the App: Settings → Account → Delete Account
• By email: privacy@chatpayapp.com with subject "Delete My Account"

Personal data is removed from our servers within 30 days of deletion, except data required by law or recorded on blockchain.

10. Children's Privacy

ChatPay is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us immediately.

11. International Data Transfers and Sub-Processors

We are based in Mexico. Your data may be processed in Mexico, the United States, and the European Union by the following sub-processors:

• Google LLC (Firebase) — backend infrastructure including database, file storage, and supporting services (United States, EU regions)
• Reown Inc. (formerly WalletConnect) — wallet authentication and non-custodial wallet connection infrastructure
• Expo Application Services — mobile build and over-the-air update infrastructure
• Hostinger International Ltd. — website hosting infrastructure for chatpayapp.com
• BNB Smart Chain (public network) — blockchain transaction processing

By using the App, you consent to these international data transfers. We bind sub-processors via Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) compliant with GDPR Article 28.

We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash reporting providers. If we add such services in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify users in advance.

12. Third-Party Services

The App may link to third-party services including blockchain explorers (BscScan), wallet providers, and analytics tools. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

13. Changes to This Policy

We notify you of material changes through the App or email before they take effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

14. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights including the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.
